Beyond the news: Approaching drug trafficking from an intimate perspective

Abstract

On September 7, 2023, an interview was conducted with Lic. Marentes Zavala, criminal lawyer and former deputy state prosecutor, with the purpose of sharing his experiences with drug trafficking and drug dealing inside and outside Aguascalientes. Thus, students Mauro Castro, Natalia Guevara, Cuauhtli Deverge and Gabriel Hernández (with the guide of professor Fernando Álvarez, their project tutor at that time), collected material and resources related to their project’s research, which dealt with the impact of drug trafficking in Mexico, its causes and consequences within the framework of human rights.
