Design of an alternative construction material compared to commercial options through mechanical testing
Keywords:

This study explores the impact of adding agave fiber to concrete on the mechanical properties of cement blocks. Comparative mechanical tests were conducted between blocks with and without agave fiber to assess their resistance. Groups were differentiated to calculate ultimate deformation and compressive strength. The results revealed a significant enhancement in blocks with agave fiber, demonstrating notably higher resistance to compressive stress compared to blocks without this additive. This research highlights the potential of agave fiber as a component that enhances the mechanical properties of concrete, which could have significant implications in the construction industry.
