Abstract

This review discusses the book La práctica de reminiscencias en la convivencia cotidiana con adultos mayores (Sahagún Padilla et al., 2026), which moves knowledge away from the clinic and toward everyday life, proposing remembering as a social, embodied and relational practice rather than a purely cerebral process. It highlights the value of specific memories, reminiscence beyond the clinical format, the skills of the companion, and an ethics of care in the face of forgetting. It concludes that the book reclaims old age through the figure of homo narrans and frames memory as an act of justice and symbolic restitution.
