Art beyond the workshop: from appreciation to the configuration of human realities

Abstract

The following text is divided into three parts: first, a review of art as a concept and the functions it has been collectively given, including those vernacular and peripheral practices; second, a note on art in Mexico today, both in its interior and its exterior projection, but it is not a historical tour; third, a series of functions linked to human welfare in various dimensions.
